Aknac Tours &Travel, a Ghanaian based travel firm, understands that hosting our valued clients from diaspora and other areas of Africa requires these 10 essential Terms and Conditions:
1. Booking and Deposit Policy
To secure your spot on a curated tour, a non-refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be settled no later than 30 days prior to your arrival in Ghana.
2. Visa and Entry Requirements
Travelers are solely responsible for obtaining a valid Ghanaian Visa or a Diaspora Visa-on-Arrival (where applicable). Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of departure. We are happy to provide an official Invitation Letter once your deposit is confirmed.
3. Health and Vaccinations
In accordance with Ghana Health Service regulations, all travelers must provide proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination upon entry. We strongly recommend consulting a travel clinic for malaria prophylaxis and other recommended boosters before departure.
4. Travel Insurance Requirement
It is a mandatory condition of booking that all participants have comprehensive travel insurance. This must cover medical emergencies, emergency repatriation, and trip cancellation. [Company Name] is not liable for personal injury or loss of property.
5. Itinerary Flexibility
While we strive to stick to the scheduled itinerary, Ghana is a vibrant and unpredictable land. We reserve the right to modify routes, transport, or accommodation due to local conditions (weather, festivals, or roadworks) to ensure the safety and comfort of the group.
6. Cultural Conduct and Respect
We pride ourselves on community-based tourism. Travelers are expected to respect local customs, particularly when visiting traditional palaces (Palaces of Chiefs) or sacred sites. Briefing sessions on local etiquette will be provided at the start of the tour.
7. Photography and Media
By joining our tour, you consent to Aknac Travel and Tour using photographs or videos taken during the trip for promotional purposes. If you prefer to opt out of media coverage, please inform your tour manager in writing before the tour begins.
8. Heritage Site Protocols
When visiting sensitive sites such as the Cape Coast or Elmina Slave Castles, we maintain a somber and respectful atmosphere. We ask all participants to follow the specific guidelines set by the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB).
9. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 60 days prior to arrival will receive a 50% refund (excluding the deposit). Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable due to pre-paid commitments to hotels and transport providers.
10. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from our services will be settled through the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) or via arbitration in Accra.
